WHERE IT ALL BEGINS
Pinterest, Houzz, Television, magazines, you name it – we all draw inspiration from our everyday life and idea sharing is paramount to designing a plan that uniquely suits our client. In this instance, we were presented with unique task of designing around a floor plan the client already lived in and loved. The key focus of the new design being a revamp of particular spaces to improve functionality for their current family dynamic.
GETTING THE BALL ROLLING
Style Guide & 3D Model
After meeting with our clients and discussing their wishes and inspiration photos, we get a better feel for the aesthetic they are looking to achieve in their new home. This helps us curate floorplans, exterior designs, and color palettes to best bring to life our client’s vision.
The light cascading down from the open air cupola highlights the impressive staircase & foyer as you pass through the front doors. Going against the grain of open concept, the kitchen, great room and outdoor living are the centerpiece to this design. Centered around a see-through fireplace, each space has definition and purpose while maintaining flow.
The secluded office & family management center allows work to be done, while the large dining room brings formal charm to guests dining experience.
The master suite is anything other than understated, the key focus of the second floor was delivering unique spaces to the family’s three children. Each bedroom harbors a unique aspect, one including a ladder to a loft space above the bathroom; the other two shared a large playroom over the garage.
YOUR DREAM REALIZED
The heart of the home is the combined kitchen, dining and porch area. The open flow between these spaces provides ample space when entertaining, yet with the use of timber beams and square headers, each space remains defined and cozy for everyday living.
There was also a keen focus on the volume of each space, so applying a 2 story vault in the great room and a three story open staircase provided the right amount of drama to go along with the warm and intimate feel of the floor plan.
